Nurses

Our highly experienced and skilled practice nurses are available to provide advice on minor illness and to carry out procedures such as baby immunisations, cervical smear tests, spirometry checks, ECG's, health checks for both women and men, wound dressing and removal of stitches, and to give advice on diet and healthy lifestyle. The nurses run clinics for patients suffering from asthma, diabetes, coronary heart disease and learning disabilities. They also help the doctors carry out minor surgery and other procedures.

Practice Management

The practice management team is involved in managing all aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. They support the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also help to develop extended services to enhance patient care.

Reception

Our receptionists are here to help you. There are particular care navigation processes in place which are designed to make the best use of appointments so that patients can be seen by the right person and are given the options to access the care and information that best meets their health and social needs. The receptionist will ask you for a brief reason for your appointment to enable them to do this.

Our prescribing clerks support the clinical team in the management and preparation of prescriptions as well as liaising with patients and local pharmacies about their prescriptions.

Ellie says: My name is Ellie and I am a Paramedic Practitioner. I work with both Siam Surgery and Hardwicke House. Before joining the surgeries I worked for the East of England Ambulance service for over 13 years and have been a qualified paramedic for over 8 years. I love being a Paramedic and am really enjoying working and helping patients in a new environment. I am here to help the team see patients that need on the day assessment and care whether that be for advice or treatment.

Andrew says: 'I'm a Senior Registered Mental Health Nurse and have worked in health care since 2001, joining the NHS in 2003 in mental health services. I have worked in a variety of settings including: inpatient care, emergency assessment and community services. Mental health services now have more of a presence within the GP surgery, part of the primary care network (PCN). I oversee the mental health Sudbury PCN and aim to deliver a faster and effective service.'
